Hi Brought mine 2nd hand the original owner had P Rodmill service machine replaced tubes with B,s other minor faults, some caused by screwdriver operators never fix whats working well pleased, no other issues, ease of use, no noise.

Had the Ranger h for approx 2 years and never had any problems at all with the amp. Only thing I replaced was four worn out a tubes for b when I first brought it second hand. The ranger is used daily and very simple to tune,It will easily produce watts into my dummy load and runs cool even on RTTY with watts. The fan is nice and quiet and does a great job cooling.

Second hand these amps can be found cheap and worth grabbing. I considered buying one, but when I opened it to look inside I saw that there was no High Voltage Interlock or High Voltage Capacitor discharge mechanism. Ive had my Ranger amp for over a year now, I bought it second hand of a friend, It had very little use with him, I however use it almost every day. Power output is very good, Into a dummyload on most bands its putting out over watts with watts drive, At the UK limit its just ticking over.

A very nice amp. Been using this amp for a couple of months now and works flawlessly. Solidly built and a dream to operate its just so easyby far the best amp ive used 73's. Simple idiot proof amp easy to tunesuper instructions power as stated in manual. Now had this amp nearly 4 years, plenty of use at Uk legal limit. Paul arranged collection and on completion returned the amp to me himself he was up this way at a hamfest.

I have run an h since and it has never let me down. Had tubes replaced when I bought it second hand by Peter at Linear Amp, superb personal service lets hope the new owners can match his service.

Runs UK leagal limit effortlessly,is a straightforward, no nonsence amplifier that should provide years of service. My Ranger broke down in just 18 months. The output power was reduced from w to about w,and at some bands even lower. Also I noticed high SWR up to 2. I sent it to the factory and the fixed it ,but even then it couldn't produce pure W as it did when it was new about My other observation is that it is noisy as I compare it with the Ameritron I own.

I saw that it wasn't aligned correct when it was new to some of the higher bands ,but I didn't care about that as I don't operate up there. Now it is back in its box and I use my Ameritron.

Further to my earlier review, I moved to ZL in Septemberthe linear made it, fired up first time. When you subscribe, you receive only messages for the product you have subscribed to.

Linear Amp Gemini 23 - 1296MHz 250W Solid State Linear Amplifier

Reviews Home. I've bought this amp new and use it daily and I could not be more happy. I love how it loafs along at 1 kW, but its quietness is probably my favorite thing about using it. Highly recommended. This amp is really solidly built and well designed.

It works as advertised and loafs along at a KW. It will do more but why push it. The price is great. The folks at DX Shop are perfect. I highly recommend this amplifier. Picked this up 2nd hand Was going to buy a acom s but this came along at a similar price I've used the Gemini range of amps on 4m 2m and 23cms and all worked flawlessly I even got a hexbeam to go up at some point.

Time Owned: 0 to 3 months. The thermal design on this is very conservative with a massive heatsink, and OFHC heatspreader which means less noise from fans. Only downside is the resultant weigh-in at 19Kg. The amp follows every QSY via cat control here in the shack, but no cat control is needed.

I'm proud to say this amp is also British made, well done! Auto bandswitching and no tune makes for fast QSY.A linear actuator uses one of a variety of mechanisms to produce motion in a straight line.

The range of motion is called the stroke and can be measured in foot pounds of torque and inches of travel. A high speed linear actuator would also be rated by the amount of time required to complete its linear travel, such as inches per second. Linear actuators may be mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electro-mechanical. The power source for these devices may be low or high voltage electric circuits, compressed air, or hydraulic fluid under pressure.

Parts for linear systems may include brackets, bearings, shafts and glides, controls, wiring, and relays and other switches. Applications include openers and closers for doors, door locks, positioners for chairs and beds, linear motion material handlers for machining operations and other manufacturing tasks. A heavy duty linear actuator may be used for applications such as multi-level car park equipment or a conveyor system lift. Skip to main content. Linear Actuators.

Linear Actuator. Frustration-Free Packaging. Include Out of Stock. There's a problem loading this menu right now.First thing is first: Make sure you have a dummy load that will handle the amplifier running at full power! Connect the dummy load to the amplifier via an antenna switch. Switch the amplifier power on. Read the plate voltage meter on the amplifier and make sure the voltage is within the limits specified in the amplifier manual.

Then Power up the transceiver. Select the band and frequency you wish to operate on. Set the mode switch on SSB, and turn the transmitter drive control to the settings requested in the user manual for your linear amplifier. Set the amplifier bandswitch to the desired band, remembering that some amplifiers might not cover the WARC bands, however you can usually still tune them. Set the amplifier meter to relative power. Incorrect tuning shortens the life of the tubes dramatically! Remember also that if you require an ATU with your antenna system this needs to be rated at a PEP greater than your amplifier output!

My explorer spent more time being repaired than on the air. Poor quality product and not worth buying. Save the extra cash up and look at better options like the Acom or Just rubbish.

Linear Amp Uk Ranger 811H add plate voltage fuses

Looks like an amateur had built it as a one off with cheap bits out of a junk box. Not something worth putting expensive s in. The workmanship and techniques used are wholly inadequate for a commercial product and barely better than CB trash. I have 2 Heatherlite Explorer HF amps. Both of my amps have performed very well over the years. There has been the odd component failure but I expect this from a heavily used 1k 2 bottle amp.

The 's I use Chinese are good valves. I have changed mine once in this time. Both amps were bought used 1 from the factory and 1 from a local ham. The build might not be on a par with the big names such as Yaesu or Kenwood but they are rugged and do what they claim. I am by no means an expert on high power amps but from an operators point of view, these amps give fair value for money and are easy to repair. The main downside being that the valves are expensive. If you are buying your first amp and are new to electronics or radio, looking around for a newer more up to date model from better know manufacturers might be the best way to go.

However, a good deal is a good deal so, don't walk away from an old 'Heatherlite' if you find one. The early ones had a chocolate brown front panel. Some had brown cases also. The earliest had no soft start. The guy who built and designed these in the 80's and early 90's, no longer has the company, as far as I know it was bought over. At the time of writing I understand they have moved to a new factory unit. The original owner was very customer friendly and general advice on amps was always available by phone if he wasn't too busy. With over 30 years experience in building VHF and UHF amplifiers our current amplifiers continue to demonstrate our commitment to suppling top quality, hand built, rugged units that will give many years of hard working service.
